Communications Internship
United Way's Marketing and Communications team routinely seeks interns to assist in the development of communications tools necessary to achieve United Way’s marketing objectives. Internships are offered for the fall and spring student semesters as well as during the summer season. All internships are credit-only (non-paid) internships.
Key Intern Responsibilities:
Assist with coordination of key events
Manage event materials and deliverables
Develop and maintain event itineraries
Delivery of speakers' agendas and points
Support ongoing media initiatives
Maintain and update media lists
Daily monitoring of local and national media hits / topics of interest
Distribute news releases pre / post event
Identify social media opportunities
Assist with marketing development
Write at least one article for LIVING UNITED, quarterly donor newsletter
Collaborate with team on new volunteer activation initiatives
Limited management of online communication avenues
Write content for at least one marketing collateral
Internship Requirements
Student must be in their third or fourth year of academics
Required credit hours to be determined by academic department
Student must have reliable transportation
Required Skills / Software
Proactive, results-oriented work style with creative problem-solving skills
Ability to multi-task
Displays leadership on assigned projects and contributes to the overall team objectives
Superb writing / editing skills with a high level attention to detail
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Office
